Banished Behind Bars - a Festival Of Social Science 2018 event

Concerned about the treatment of asylum seekers in the UK? Join this debate and share your views...

Organised by the University of Essex, this event is open to the public and is particularly aimed at individuals working with refugees, or having personally sought asylum in the UK.

So if you're interested in exploring the challenges of the UK asylum system, where people may find themselves detained indefinitely, having committed no crime and with no known release date, then this event is a chance for you to share your experience.

Join Dr Zibiah Alfred Loakthar from the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, from 1.30pm - 5pm on Thursday 8th November at Resource For London in London. Meet leading academics, NGO workers, policy makers, archivists and human rights activists, as they discuss the UK asylum system.

Click here to reserve your place now. This event is part of the nationwide Festival Of Social Science and is completely free of charge.
