BIRDS IN A CAGE - The case of Ahed Tamimi and other Palestinian minors held in the Israeli prisons

Roosevelt Movement UK

Together with Israeli historian, professor and social activist, Ilan Pappe', we will be hosting an important debate whose aim is to move hearts and minds on a very sad example of failing to protect human rights: the widely reported story of Ahed Tamimi, the Palestinian teenage activist who is serving an eight-month prison sentence for having confronted an Israeli soldier, and the brutal conditions that other Palestinians minors have to endure whilst being detained in the Israeli prisons.

The event will also include the projection of parts of the exclusive interview that journalist Abby Martin did with Ahed Tamimi for Telesur, then translated by Pandora TV, and the touching performances by various artists on the topic. Members of the audience will also be able to join in the debate during the Q&A session, when they will be invited to share their own viewpoint on the subject.
